Marc Ryan is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist with over 10 years of clinical, research, and teaching experience. Mr. Ryan received his Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University where his interest in botany and plant pharmacology began. He went on to study herbology at Tao University in New York City where he learned Dr. Stephen Chang’s system that is based on the Japanese Kampo herbal tradition. After apprenticing for 2 years in Dr. Chang’s system with master herbalist Drew DiVittorio, he moved to California to continue his studies at Yo San University where he received a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated with honors.

Mr. Ryan was manager and staff herbalist/acupuncturist at Herb King, an herbal pharmacy in Santa Monica specializing in Chinese herbs, for 5 years and went on to become the lead consultant in Los Angeles for the San Francisco based Chinese herb company, Secara.

Mr. Ryan currently practices at the UCLA Integrative Urology program, a UCLA medical group which focuses on prostate cancer prevention and men’s health issues. In addition, he is the Director of Acupuncture services at Sports Club LA in Beverly Hills, and West LA. He an also an active member of the TCM profession, working as a teacher and supervisor at Venice Family Clinic and with the Institute for the Advancement of Acupuncture Research (IAAR), in product development and as an educator and writer. In addition, he is a member of The American Botanical Council, California State Oriental Medical Association, and American Association of Oriental Medicine.
