The purpose of this study is to determine if use of Thymoglobulin with rapid discontinuation of corticosteroids and maintenance (on-going, daily) immunosuppression with Tacrolimus (TAC) and Mycophenolate Mofetil (MMF) is as safe and effective as compared to standard care with TAC, MMF and standard corticosteroids (triple therapy). |
| |
This is an “open label” study and subjects will have a 50/50 chance of either receiving standard treatment, or experimental treatment with Thymoglobulin and reduced-dose corticosteroids. |
| |
Enrollment Criteria*:
- 18 years of age or older
- Scheduled to receive a kidney transplant from a living donor
- Must not have HIV or Hepatitis B or C
