Clinical Trial Details

Trial Information

Trial:  Kidney Cancer - Metastatic RCC – PREVIOUSLY TREATED

Co-Investigator(s):  Arie Belldegrun, MD;

This trial is currently accepting new patient applications.  (Apply)

Objective

A Phase II Study of Recombinant Human Lactoferrin in Patients with Advanced RCC who have Failed At Least one Regimen of Systemic Treatment.

Recombinant Lactoferrin is structurally and functionally equivalent to native lactoferrin that is found in human milk.  Like the native protein, rhLF displays anti-neoplastic and immunomodulatory properties.  Recent investigations have shown a wide array of functions of lactoferrin that are related to host primary defense mechanisms.  Lactoferrin has been found to inhibit metastasis and carcinogenesis in many in vivo models.

Principal investigator: Fairooz Kabbinavar - Hematology-Oncolory
